Zindagi Trust & Khaaton-e-Pakistan

Zindagi Trust affilaited with the Provincial Government of Pakistan in 2015, where they partnered with the primary school of Khaaton-e-Pakistan Government School located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. At the time Zindagi Trust partnered, this school had become a ghost school, almost in active in any development for primary education. The school building was also not maintained. The nature of affiliation between Zindagi Trust and Khaaton-e-Pakistan is that of a Public-Private sector partnership. Zindagi Trust is responsible for providing an innovtive curriculum and make on going developments in the curriculum, the way teachers are conducting their lessons in class, making students active learners.

This is just one of the very innovative ways in which we see Zindagi Trust is keeping students interested in how they learn mathematics. This is how they name their classes, making the students and visitors recall some basic mathematics. Can you guess which class this is?

This is the breakfast room where children from Nursery and KG are given in-house cooked, healthy breakfast to ensure they get proper nourishment in their early year where they require nutrients to keep growing – essential for their overall development. This was developed as an essential part of the school development by Zindagi Trust when they first started noticing that some of the students were lethargic and would often sleep during school time. After inquiring from their parents and the students as well, it was found out that these children were not having breakfast before coming to school.

Art Room

This is the art room where students are encourage to show their creativity an innovation in the form of art – a painting, structure, drawing, handwritten anonymous secret notes to speak out what’s up their mind. Art is is one of the firt ways in which Zindagi Trust made their intervention into this school. This was because they wanted to find out more about students’ life and perhaps how do they see their life – the positive and negative side of their lives in order to come up with the edication system that could benefit them the most.

These are some of the most prominent structure developments implemented by Zindagi Trust over past 5 years. The new developments in developing better education systems will never stop and we hope for a better future for Pakistan.
